Perimenopause & Menopause Care
Personalized, Evidence-Based Care for Midlife Health
Perimenopause and menopause can affect much more than your menstrual cycle. Changes in sleep, mood, energy, metabolism, sexual health, bone health, and overall well-being can all be part of the transition.
At Vida Family Medicine, Dr. Anushree Kumar provides comprehensive, evidence-based care designed around your symptoms, health history, and goals.
Our approach gives you the time and support to understand what is changing, explore appropriate treatment options, and create a plan that supports your health now and in the years ahead.
Why Choose Dr. Kumar for Menopause Care?
Dr. Anushree Kumar is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician specializing in perimenopause, menopause, and midlife health.
Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Dr. Kumar looks at the whole picture, including:
Hormonal changes and menopause symptoms
Metabolic and cardiovascular health
Mood and mental health
Sleep
Sexual and genitourinary health
Bone health
Nutrition, movement, and lifestyle
Treatment is individualized and may include hormone therapy, non-hormonal medications, lifestyle interventions, or a combination of approaches based on your medical history, symptoms, preferences, and goals.
With longer appointments and direct physician access, you have the time to ask questions, understand your options, and make informed decisions about your care.
Perimenopause Evaluation
What to Expect During Your Evaluation
Your evaluation is designed to give Dr. Kumar a comprehensive understanding of your symptoms and overall health rather than focusing on a single concern.
Visit 1:
Comprehensive Assessment
Your initial visit includes:
A 60–90 minute comprehensive review of your symptoms, medical history, and health goals
A complete physical examination
Body composition analysis to establish a baseline and better understand your metabolic health
Any appropriate laboratory testing or additional evaluation, which may include metabolic markers, hormone testing, or bone density testing
Your body composition can also be monitored over time when appropriate, providing another way to track changes in metabolic health and progress beyond weight alone.
Visit 2:
Results & Personalized Treatment Plan
At your follow-up visit, Dr. Kumar will review your results and discuss how perimenopause or menopause may be affecting your overall health.

Support for sleep, mood, sexual wellness, nutrition, fitness, and metabolic health

Menopause care does not end after your initial evaluation.
Follow-up visits allow Dr. Kumar to:
Monitor your symptoms and progress
Adjust medications or treatment as needed

FAQ
-
For your first appointment, Dr. Kumar highly recommends booking an in-person visit. She performs a detailed physical assessment, including a pelvic exam (Don’t worry - It’s much more comfortable than a traditional pap smear!). A face-to-face visit sets the stage for a comfortable and trusting relationship between the doctor and patient. Subsequent visits can be completed virtually (via secure video conference) or in-person at her clinic.

As a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, Dr. Kumar has extensive experience in primary care medicine. She provides basic preventive care services and management as part of her comprehensive care for patients who do not have a separate PCP. For management of more complex chronic conditions, she may need additional visits to allow appropriate management., This will be discussed at the time of consultation. She also works closely with her patients’ PCP’s and Ob-gyn physicians to coordinate care.

No, Dr. Kumar does not profit from the sale of any medications, supplements, or unproven procedures.
